A $5 punters Club will be operating on races 3 through to the second to last on the day. Tickets will be available from the race day office and various totes around the course. A great way to have a little flutter without having to study the form.

A Member on course could win $50 000! But you must be here to win! 

A great extra incentive for any RACEinc Racing Clubs members to be at Trentham! 
All you have to do is scan your Membership card to tell us that you are on course then you could win $50,000!

Simply scan in on arrival before Race 2 using your Members card (not guest card) either at the office prior to Race 1 or there will be a roving scanner through the Members stand between Race 1 and 2.
The draw with those scanned & registered will take place after Race 2 and the winner notified via the loudspeaker system then must present themselves prior to Race 3 to the race day office.
The Member must then correctly choose the winners in 4 selected races at Trentham (determined by the WRC) at least 15 minutes before the first chosen race.
If all four selections are winners, the member will take home $50 000 !

 Trentham’s  tiered  restaurant  with  a  stunning  outlook  over  the  Birdcage  and racetrack  within  the  Members’  Stand  showcases  our Chef’s expertise  with  a  four  course  meal.  The  dress  code is smart casual.

Your day at Trentham includes:

Located on Level 3 of the Members Stand our 9 Corporate Boxes are prime real estate with a view second to none at Trentham.

We have a number of different capacity boxes available starting with a 15 guests minimum.

  • Your exclusive corporate box for a minimum 15 guests set with tables, chairs and bar leaners with racebooks for each guest, televisions managed by the TAB and full views of the racecourse

By train

Leaving central Wellington every 30 minutes (5 minutes past and 35 minutes past the hour), approx time from City to Trentham is 40 mins. Return trains to Wellington from Trentham also leave at 5 minutes past and 35 minutes past the hour.Click here for Metlink timetables.

By car

Trentham Racecourse is located on Racecourse Road. Public parking is available on Racecourse Road and surrounding areas and public are also invited to park in the Members Car park for todays meeting (Entrance 150m past turnstiles on Racecourse Road). Members, Owners, Jockeys & Trainers are invited to park in the forecourt (access beside turnstiles) until full, then the Leger Car Park at the Northern end of the course. Click here for Google Maps

Changes to Cup Carnival 2016 02 Jul 2015

The Wellington Racing Club is invested in making Wellington the coolest little capital and ensuring Wellington is the place to be in January.  2016 sees the Wellington Racing Club and Sevens Wellington team-up to bring the Capitals biggest and best sporting events together over three action packed weekends.

The Wellington Cup is an iconic part of Greater Wellington’s history and culture. To be able to combine with the NZ Rugby Union to help create a world class sporting event over two weeks and three weekends is a great achievement for both sports and for Wellington.

For some time the Club has been looking at how the Wellington Cup could contribute even more to culture and tourism within Greater Wellington and the opportunity to work together with the Wellington Sevens.

Wellington will now have World Class Thoroughbred racing starting with Tui Super Saturday (16th January) featuring the Group 1 J R & N Berkett Telegraph over 1200m.

We then go to the Wellington Cup on Saturday 23 January followed by Family Day, as part of the Interislander Summer Festival and supported locally by New World, on Saturday 30 January which will feature the Wellfield Desert Gold Stakes and bringing premier racing to a day that has traditionally been known as an industry day of racing.

Saturday 30th January also kicks off the first day of the Wellington Sevens with the final on Sunday 31st.

These new dates will give you as a Member more to look forward to in January and to be proud to be a Member of a club that is truly invested in Wellington.

To help accommodate the Wellington Cup Carnival movement and keep the traditional lead ups to Cup Day, the Premier raceday for the Marton Jockey Club has also moved. Gallagher Marton Cup Day will now be held on January 9th moving back one week from its original January 16th date and still two weeks before the Wellington Cup.
