Alice has a name and is Racing! 27 Jan 2015

January 2015

The Members horse is going to the races and “Alice” now has a name.

Thank you to all members who wrote in with suggestions for her official racing name.

One name that was particularly liked was “Marvelle” which is of Spanish / Latin origin and means “a miracle to behold”.

She has had a few jump outs to educate her and really is getting the hang of it.

At her latest jump out at Levin. Gary advised she jumped 5 lengths clear and just stayed there.

So next Friday our own little Marvelle is off to the races.  She has thrilled her trainer Gary Vile and assuming all is well will have her first start at Tauherenikau Friday 6 February.

Gary identified a $10,000, 2 year old 1000 metre set weights & penalties race for her to begin her career. (Meeting 3, Race 4, #7)

Owners privileges as issued by the Wairarapa Racing Club will be limited therefore any RACE Inc. Club member who would like to be one of the 20 “owners” on the day and attend to cheer Marvelle on, should contact your club by email to be in the draw to choose the 20 “owners”.

Kind regards
Al Robertson
